RPL, or Recognition of Prior Learning, evaluates skills and knowledge acquired outside the classroom against a given set of standards, competencies, or learning outcomes. This pathway is an alternative to the standard assessment process for individuals who have gained – through their experience – the same knowledge and skills that could be acquired through a training program. It recognizes that experience can be as valuable as undertaking training.
